At their March 25, 2003 meeting, The Board of County Commissioners approve the application for $500,000 in state grant funds to help with the construction costs of the new library in Homosassa.
The application was then submitted to the State on March 27, 2003.

Community Input
The first community input meeting was held on Feb. 6, 2003 at the West Citrus Elks Club Lodge # 2693, 7890 W. Grover Cleveland Blvd., Homosassa Springs, Florida, just up the steet from the new library site. Charlie Parker, State Library Consultant helped facilitate the meeting.
